Lithium battery is a new type of green secondary battery successfully developed in the 1990s, which has been developing rapidly in the past ten years, occupying the largest market share in the small secondary battery market and has become the most competitive battery in chemical power applications.
Compared with lead-acid batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries, nickel-hydrogen batteries and other secondary batteries, lithium batteries have outstanding advantages such as high energy density, long cycle life, small self-discharge rate, no memory effect and green environment protection.
With the increasing demand for environmental protection and energy saving, the advantages of long cycle life, environmental protection and energy saving of lithium batteries are becoming more and more prominent, and the application fields will continue to be broadened.
Classification of lithium batteries
Classified by shape and package.
1. Cylindrical lithium battery
Cylindrical lithium-ion battery, its model is generally named with 5 digits, the first two digits are the diameter of the battery, the middle two digits are the height of the battery, the last digit 0 represents the cylindrical shape, the unit is millimeter.
The common cylindrical lithium battery models are: 18650, 16500, 21700, 26650, 46800, etc.
Cylindrical lithium batteries are usually used in consumer electronics, power tools, two-wheeled electric vehicles, energy storage products, electric vehicles, etc.
2.Square lithium battery
Square lithium battery usually refers to aluminum-shell square lithium battery, which is widely used in consumer electronics, electric vehicles, energy storage products, exploration and mapping, medical equipment, portable testing equipment, etc.
3.Soft pack battery
Soft pack battery usually refers to the lithium battery with shell made by aluminum composite film package. Its market share is gradually expanding due to its light weight, low mold cost and high safety advantages.
4.Special-shaped battery
Referring to the irregular shape of lithium batteries, usually used in some electronic products with special requirements, such as Bluetooth headphones, wearable devices, ultra-thin cell phones, etc.
